Why Impact Scout exists
Most people want to support local businesses and community organizations — they just don't know where to find them or how to tell which ones are genuinely making a difference.
Impact Scout was built to solve that. We verify businesses and volunteer organizations against a clear set of criteria, assign an Impact Score based on real community contributions, and put them on a map so you can discover them wherever you are.
When you visit a listed business, you earn points. Those points unlock rewards — and more importantly, they signal to the community that these places are worth supporting.
Meet the founder
Laila Riley
Founder & CEO, Impact Scout
Hi, I'm Laila, the founder of Impact Scout. A big part of what inspired Impact Scout came from my experience in pageants. Through pageants, I became much more involved in community outreach, volunteering, and supporting local organizations. Those experiences showed me how much impact can come from simply getting involved and choosing to support the people and causes around you.
I've also always been interested in business, marketing, and the way people make everyday decisions. I started thinking about how much easier it could be to support local businesses, sustainable options, and meaningful causes if people could actually find them all in one place.
That idea became Impact Scout — a platform designed to help people discover businesses, organizations, and opportunities that create a positive impact in their communities. My goal is to make conscious choices feel simple and accessible, while also encouraging people to become more connected to the communities they live in.
Impact Scout started with a simple question: What if finding ways to make a difference was as easy as opening a map?

Community involvement changed everything
The beginning
Growing up connected
Growing up, I was always interested in the people, businesses, and organizations that make a community feel connected. But a big part of what truly inspired me came from my experience participating in pageants. Pageants gave me opportunities to become involved in volunteering, community outreach, and supporting local organizations. Through those experiences, I realized how many amazing businesses, nonprofits, and causes exist right in our own communities — but how difficult they can sometimes be to discover.
The discovery
Seeing what was hidden
Through pageants and volunteering, I was introduced to local organizations, small businesses, and community initiatives that I may never have discovered otherwise. I realized that people often want to support their communities — they just do not always know where to start. I started thinking about how much easier it would be if there were one place where people could find businesses and opportunities that aligned with the things they cared about.
The insight
A map for what matters
We already use maps every day to decide where to eat, shop, and spend our time. I wondered: what if a map could also help us decide where our support could make an impact? Impact Scout brings together local businesses, sustainable options, volunteer opportunities, and other community-focused places so users can easily discover them.

Impact Scout is designed to make conscious choices simple, accessible, and rewarding. My goal is to encourage people to explore their communities, support businesses and causes that matter to them, and recognize that even small everyday choices can create a larger impact.
